Book Hounds

I designed the brand identity for Book Hounds, an independent neighborhood bookstore made for people, pups, and page-turners alike. Inspired by the joy of wandering a bookstore with a curious hound by your side, the brand leans into warmth, personality, and a strong sense of community.

At the center of the identity is a refined wordmark paired with a loyal hound icon. A flexible set of secondary, tertiary, and badge marks gives the brand room to roam across signage, merchandise, events, and digital touchpoints while staying cohesive and recognizable. Custom icons and repeatable patterns add playful texture throughout the system, while a cozy, storybook-inspired color palette of orchid, English violet, pear, and oxford blue brings to mind classic book covers and well-loved local shops. Thoughtful typography balances timeless serif styles with expressive accents, reinforcing a voice that’s smart, approachable, and just a little cheeky.

The result is a brand that feels warm, curious, and full of character—designed to welcome you in, wag a friendly tail, and help you get your paws on the perfect book.
